PARISH NEWS
We here at Concordia Lutheran Church are setting a goal to pay to Lutheran High for the debt we owe to them. After all, they are a part of our Church as we are an association member.
So, we are trying to make a…
CHANGE FOR THE NEW YEAR!
There is a water bottle in the Narthex and maybe more bottles to come. Our goal to fill the bottle or bottles full of your pocket change (or "quiet money" as well). Save your change and bring it in. It doesn’t seem like a lot, after all, it’s only pocket change. But if we all work together on this, a little pocket change may make a big change in the amount we owe to our High School!
Ladies Aid
Ladies Aid - meets on the third Tuesday of each month. We invite all ladies to join us. Our January meeting will be Tuesday January17th at 1 pm.LWML meets the third Thursday of each month. The January meeting will be on January 19th at 6:30 pm. Ladies, we invite you to come join us. We will be planning for 2012. Bring with you your ideas and enthusiasm.
Portals of Prayer
Looking for a short, daily devotion that offers a source of strength and comfort? We have available each quarter the "Portals of Prayer". The January through March issue is now available on the table in the narthex. If you would like us to reserve a copy for you please let us know. We do, however, have a number of extra copies available so feel free to pick one up anytime.
************
Concordia Lutheran Church is looking for a working digital camera to take pictures of our new members, baptisms, and etc. If anyone has one they would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. This will allow us to take the pictures and print them in the office, so that they will get on the bulletin board in a timelier manner. If you have one to donate, please call the office. Thank you.
The Office
In our continuing effort to keep our costs low in the office, we are once again asking you to let us know how you would prefer to get your newsletter. Anyone who would like to get an email copy (we will need to have your current email address) or would rather read it on our website, please let us know so we can take your name off of the print list and save some paper. Also, if you could try to pick printed copies up on the narthex table the first weekend of the month, that will also save us some postage.
***Please fill out an attendance card whether you are a visitor or a member, it helps us be able to know how many bulletins we need to print and to know who to contact for not having been here in a while. We like to reach out to those who haven’t been here in a few weeks and make sure that they are alright. If you will be absent more than two weeks let the office know and we can put you on vacation hold and not mail you a card. -Thank you, Sharon and Lora
For New Years, make the resolution
to start attending Bible Class regularly.

*Thursday Adult Information Class at 7:00pm – Resumes in January
This class is an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The class is also a good review of your catechetical instruction. This class will be held in the Heritage Room and childcare will be available. Plan to join us for class.
*1st & 3rd Friday Lunch Bunch at 1:00pm
We invite everyone to join us for Lunch Bunch. We meet at a different restaurant 2 times per month (Please see the calendar for when and where we will be meeting each month!). We try to make everyone feel welcome. After we eat, we have a short devotion by one of our pastors. It only takes about 1-1½ hours at the restaurant and you have to eat lunch anyway, so why not join in?

An Invitation to Concordia Lutheran School Students: The Lutheran High School Crusaders would like to invite any student currently attending Concordia Lutheran School to attend the boy’s basketball game vs. Illinois School of the Deaf on Friday, January 6, 2012. This is an opportunity to visit Lu-Hi and to also observe what we think will be an exciting basketball game. Our junior varsity will play at 6:15 and the varsity squad will begin sometime around 7:45. Admittance is free if you wear a Concordia shirt or jacket.
