The Parish Ed Committee is starting to plan for VBS. Our Next Meeting will

be May 19th at 9:00am. We will be serving breakfast! Please call Lora if you have

something you would like to bring for breakfast so that we don’t all bring the same thing.

At this meeting we will be discussing VBS, summer Sunday school and possible new

curriculum for fall. Please if you would like to help with VBS, attend this meeting.

If you would like to make a donation, just put VBS on the memo line of your check. If you have questions, or would like to volunteer, please contact Lora Beavers at 529-3307. VBS will be held June 24-29 from 6-8pm. Our theme this year is the Amazing Desert Journey, where will be learning all about the Lord’s Prayer. Please plan on bringing your children to VBS. They have so much fun learning about the Lord in Vacation Bible School. We will see you in Bible Class, Sunday School & at VBS!

LUNCH BUNCH INVITATION:

We invite everyone to join us Friday’s for Lunch Bunch. We meet at 1pm at a different restaurant 2 times per month. We try to make everyone feel welcome.  After we eat, we have a short devotion by one of our pastors. It only takes about 1-1½ hours at the restaurant and you have to eat lunch anyway, so why not join in?

May 4th - join us at Cheddars

May 18th - join us at Amber Jacks

The Office

K-8 School Registration for 2012-2013?

Please keep in mind that registration for school this year is on Sunday, May 20th from 11:30-1:00pm. If you are planning to return or start Concordia Lutheran School, please attend. Financial Aid forms will be available to those who need them. We will have someone here from Accounts and Aid to help with questions that day as well. And remember, you can also sign up to have payments for tuition automatically withdrawn, ask for a form and you will need a blank check as well to get that set up. You can register after that date but we strongly encourage you to register at this time, so we can start getting numbers for ordering books and other supplies for the upcoming school year. Remember, if you know of someone looking for a Christian school for their child, invite them to come along as well. Questions? Call 529-3309. -- Thank you, Sharon and Lora

WE ARE DOING GREAT! Let’s keep it up! We here at Concordia Lutheran Church are setting a goal to pay to Lutheran High for the debt we owe to them. After all, they are a part of our Church as an association member. So, we are trying to make a… CHANGE FOR THE NEW YEAR! Our goal is to fill old water bottles full of your pocket change (or "quiet money" as well), so please keep your old change in a jar and bring it with you to dump in our water bottles at church. It doesn’t seem like a lot, after all, it’s only pocket change. But if we all work together on this, a little pocket change may make a big change in the amount we owe to our High School! 2012 Totals As of 04/22/12: Plate: $6,120.00 , Change Jars: $816.37 , Partial Chili Fundraiser: $671.00, Name the Fish campaign: $338.66 Total: $7,946.23

Special envelopes can be found on the narthex table… to pay down our sizable debt of $-64,632.80 (as of 03/31/12). This amount due includes what we owe Lu-Hi, missions and money borrowed from dedicated funds. Although we have been making progress, in fact our debt has dropped from where it was at the beginning of the fiscal year, we still have a ways to go. Please prayerfully consider the blessings God has given to you, remember the commitment we have made in His Church and thank Him for the blessings we have received. By God’s grace we can do this!

Please save your unneeded clothing for our

August Free Clothing giveaway.

This giveaway was very successful the last 2 years! Let’s make this year even better. Clothing can be brought in starting on May 21st. And… don’t forget to come August 5-6 for the clothing drive. If you would like to volunteer to help with the drive, please contact Mrs. Smith.

Thank you in advance for all of your donations.

This is a big deal! The students and the banquet were impressive. There is no question those selected are certainly well deserving of the honors they received in being named as elite students in our state.
